​Dräger Swede Survival training systems offer firefighters the opportunity to observe fire behavior and the signs that lead to phenomena like a flashover. The training is being conducted according to proven procedures in order to create a safe and controlled training setting. Repetition of the training increases and stabilizes the firefighters knowledge and skills to recognize and handle the specific fire scenarios.

Dräger Swede Survival training systems require minimal maintenance. Not only the Mobile Units built on a trailer chassis - available for the Phases 1 to 3 - but also the stationary systems can be relocated, if required.

​Instructors providing the "train-the-trainer" program for the Dräger Swede Survival training systems are highly experienced in providing a hands-on training program.

Users of the Dräger Swede Survival training systems include: the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, State Fire Academies, Airports, Power Stations, Department of Forestry, Municipalities, Volunteer Fire Departments, and Community/Technical Colleges. The number of users of Dräger Swede Survival training systems grows constantly.


Complementary to propane-fueled training systems

​Dräger Swede Survival training systems respond perfectly to the inevitable demand for firefighter training with carbonized fuels ("class A") like hay, pallets, wood in order to experience real phenomena like flashover and backdraft together with real smoke and residue.

In addition to these, Dräger's portfolio of live fire training systems complementary includes a comprehensive range of propane-fueled ("class B") live fire training systems. These propane-fueled systems respond to specific requirements like a focus on a high repetition rate, push button control (stop/restart) as well as environmental considerations. Class B training could even be done in preparation for class A training exercises.

Stefan Andreasson

​Stefan Andreasson, a trained leading firefighter with 11 years experience, is employed as an instructor at the Swedish Rescue Training Center in Skövde, Sweden. Stefan instructs Phase I, II, III, IV and V Flashover training and Road Traffic Accident Rescue. He has served as a paramedic and firefighter with the Swedish Rescue Services. Stefan leads the flashover training of American students at the SRSA College and has been a Dräger Swede Survival instructor since 2000.

Craig Nielsen

​Craig Nielsen, a 26-year veteran of the fire services, is a Captain with the Los Angeles Fire Dept. He has served as a Live Fire Training Officer, Driver Training Instructor, Career Guidance Counselor & Instructor of Record. Craig has been assigned to the most active fire station in the country for over two years, with 20+ responses per day. He is a California state certified Fire Instructor and Fire Officer, and Emergency Medical Technician. He has been a Dräger Swede Survival instructor since 1998.

Chris Pitts

​Chris Pitts, currently a Battalion Chief with the Indianapolis Fire Dept, is a 37-year veteran of the fire services. He is also owner and president of Rescue Tech. Inc. His past experience includes that of, Director of Training & Director of Special Operations for the Indianapolis Fire Dept. Chris holds a degree in Fire Science from Ivy Tech State College. Chris has been a Dräger Swede Survival Instructor since 1994.

John Linn

​John Linn, a 25-year veteran of the fire service, is a Captain serving with the Indianapolis, IN Fire Department. He is a state-certified HazMat Technician. He has served at the tactical rescue stations including, high angle rope rescue, heavy extrication, dive team, and hazardous materials tactical team. He has experience serving as the Asst. Director of Training, Safety Officer, Public Information Officer, and Battalion Chief aide. He holds a degree in fire science, and is a graduate of many National Fire Academy programs. He is an Advanced EMT, Fire Instructor I, II, III and has served on the FDIC Planning/Advisory Committee. He has been a Dräger Swede Survival instructor since 1994.

Rich Graeber

Rich Graeber has been in the fire service for 33 years. He currently serves as the Fire Chief with the Upper Pine River FPD in Bayfield Colorado. Rich formerly worked in the position of Associate Director of Fire & Emergency Services Training at Bates Technical College in Tacoma Washington. He has an Associates Degree in Fire Science and has been an instructor for Dräger Swede Survival since 1998.
